The 2023 edition of Art Basel Miami Beach wrapped up with record-breaking sales and an extraordinary number of attendees. Participants from the global art community praised the event as potentially the most successful iteration to date. Among the standout transactions was a $50 million sale of a rare Picasso, alongside notable purchases by leading museums.
The fair showcased a robust selection of contemporary artists, with numerous artworks being snapped up within hours of the event’s commencement. “This year has highlighted the art market’s resilience and the increasing interest it commands,” remarked Marc Spiegler, Global Director of Art Basel. “Collectors are more engaged than ever, and the quality of works on display was exceptional.”
