Applications Open for 2024 Craft Archive Fellowship

Applications Open for 2024 Craft Archive Fellowship

The Center for Craft is inviting applications for its Archive Fellowship, aimed at promoting archival research into underrepresented and non-dominant craft histories within the United States. The fellowship will highlight feminist, intersectional, queer, Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian American and Pacific Islander, among other communities. It is open to a diverse group of researchers, including those working independently, artists, and scholars at various stages of their careers.

Up to six fellows will be selected to receive a $5,000 stipend to support their research endeavors in an archive of their choice. Participants are encouraged to explore both traditional and innovative research methodologies. To broaden the impact of their work, fellows will join a virtual program hosted by the Center for Craft and have the chance to publish an article on Hyperallergic, which will be part of a special edition newsletter in Winter 2025.

A virtual information session is scheduled for potential applicants on November 8, from 3 to 4pm (ET). While the session is complimentary, registration is necessary. Interested individuals can register here.

The deadline for applications is December 6, 2023. For more information or to apply, visit the fellowship page at centerforcraft.org, or contact mgoodman@centerforcraft.org with any inquiries. The fellowship is partially funded by Ayumi Horie and Sara Clugage, with Hyperallergic as a program partner.
