James Taylor-Foster, a curator with dual British and Swedish heritage, has been appointed as the executive director of Para Site, a nonprofit contemporary art space located in Hong Kong. Formerly, Taylor-Foster served as the curator of architecture and design at ArkDes, Sweden’s national center for architecture and design based in Stockholm. He is scheduled to begin his new role on April 1, taking over from Cosmin Costinas, who departed in June 2023 to lead the Fondation d’entreprise Galeries Lafayette in Paris.
In a statement, Mimi Brown, chairwoman of Para Site, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome James as executive director. He brings a wealth of experience in curating and engaging with contemporary art and architecture, and we look forward to his leadership in shaping the future of Para Site.” Taylor-Foster is also recognized for his editorial and writing contributions to notable publications such as Domus, PIN-UP, and The Architectural Review.
Established in 1996, Para Site stands as one of Asia’s premier contemporary art institutions, renowned for its dedication to artistic creation, critical analysis, and the promotion of cultural dialogue.
