Advance Your Artistic Journey: SVA’s Online MFA Art Practice

Advance Your Artistic Journey: SVA’s Online MFA Art Practice

Graduate school shouldn’t mean hitting pause on your life or art. The School of Visual Arts (SVA) offers an MFA Art Practice program that is conducted online, allowing artists to stay engaged with their craft while participating in the vibrant New York art conversation.

Throughout the year, artists maintain an intensive studio practice enriched by seminars, critiques, and mentorship from faculty and visiting artists. Optional nine-day Summer Symposiums gather the cohort for exhibitions and discussions, fostering connections with peers, mentors, and New York’s dynamic cultural scene.

This program caters to artists looking to enhance their careers while pursuing a master’s degree—whether they are working professionals, caregivers, new BFA graduates, or self-taught creators. The curriculum encourages boundary-crossing, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the development of skills necessary for a sustainable artistic practice.

Why choose SVA? With its interdisciplinary approach, esteemed faculty, and a network that extends beyond New York, this MFA program nurtures creativity and enhances career prospects. Graduates will be equipped with a stronger portfolio, a clearer artistic voice, and the skills to pursue exhibitions, public projects, teaching roles, or new commissions.

Applications for the Fall 2026 intake are open until January 15. For more details and to apply, visit sva.edu.
