Art Basel Announces New Asian Art Fair Launch

Art Basel is expanding its footprint by introducing a new art fair in Asia set to debut next year. The prominent art fair organizer has revealed plans for ‘Art Basel Asia,’ designed to unite collectors, galleries, and artists from the continent. This initiative is expected to invigorate local art markets and offer Asian artists a chance to gain international exposure.

Marc Spiegler, Global Director of Art Basel, expressed enthusiasm about the venture: “We are thrilled to bring Art Basel to Asia. This new fair will not only showcase the diversity of the Asian art scene but also integrate it into the global art market.”

The inaugural event is scheduled to occur in Hong Kong, featuring a carefully selected array of galleries and artists. This strategic move is in response to the growing interest in Asian art and the rising number of collectors from the region attending international art fairs.

With the Asian art market experiencing rapid growth, Art Basel’s expansion is a strategic effort to establish a strong presence in the region. As more collectors focus on Asia, the new fair is anticipated to become a significant fixture in the global art scene.
