Art Basel 2023 wrapped up with unprecedented sales figures and unveiled a variety of new trends within the art industry. Art enthusiasts and collectors from across the globe converged to experience innovative installations and acquire pieces from up-and-coming artists.
“This year has been exceptional for both collectors and galleries,” stated Marc Spiegler, director of Art Basel. The prestigious fair included participation from over 200 galleries, presenting a range of works from contemporary masterpieces to cutting-edge digital creations.
Among the standout sales were a $20 million piece by Jean-Michel Basquiat and a $5 million new media installation by a promising artist.
