The 2023 edition of Art Basel Miami Beach concluded with unprecedented visitor numbers, as galleries reported robust sales. Collectors from all corners of the world flocked to the event to explore contemporary artworks, with many significant pieces snapped up within the opening hours.

According to the event’s organizers, attendance surged by 20% this year. ‘The event has been outstanding, both in terms of sales and the caliber of artworks showcased,’ stated Marc Spiegler, Global Director of Art Basel.

Among the notable transactions were a Jeff Koons sculpture acquired by a private collector for $12 million, and a Yayoi Kusama painting sold for $5 million. The success of the fair highlights the art market’s resilience despite economic uncertainties.
