The Brooklyn Museum has appointed Robert Wiesenberger as the Barbara and John Vogelstein Senior Curator of Contemporary Art. Wiesenberger, who has served as an associate curator of contemporary projects at the Clark Art Institute in Williamstown, Massachusetts, will officially begin his new position on March 1.
He takes over from Eugenie Tsai, who retired in 2021. Wiesenberger has a history of organizing exhibitions on artists like Lin May Saeed and has contributed to publications such as Artforum. His extensive experience in the field is expected to bring fresh perspectives to the museum’s contemporary art initiatives.
In a statement, Wiesenberger expressed his enthusiasm: “I’m thrilled to join the Brooklyn Museum at this exciting moment in its history. I look forward to working with an extraordinary team to present dynamic contemporary art exhibitions and programs.”
