Streetwear Icon NIGO Gets a Landmark Museum Retrospective

London’s Design Museum is set to present NIGO’s first major retrospective outside Japan this May.

Featuring more than 700 objects, the exhibition will chart his path from founder of BAPE to artistic director of Kenzo. The presentation also turns attention to NIGO’s work in pottery, bringing together 25 of his hand-thrown ceramics.

He helped define a generation’s sense of style, bridged luxury and streetwear, and made a lasting impact across art, design, and music.
