Israel Condemns UNESCO as Lebanese and West Bank Sites Are Added to Endangered List

As Israel continues its targeted land seizures and military offensives, the Mount Amel Castles in Lebanon and the archaeological ruins of Sebastia in the Occupied West Bank were among six new sites urgently placed this week on UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites in Danger.

Israel denounced the designations, accusing UNESCO of “cynical exploitation of cultural heritage for political purposes.”
