Kvareli Foundation for Contemporary Art Set to Debut in Georgia

The Kvareli Foundation for Contemporary Art is scheduled to open to the public on October 31 in Kvareli, in the Kakheti region of eastern Georgia. Housed in a building designed by architect Sandro Ramishvili, the foundation will showcase contemporary art exhibitions and seeks to establish itself as a new cultural destination in the area.

According to the foundation, its programming will feature exhibitions by Georgian and international artists, as well as educational and public events. The institution is backed by the Kvareli Foundation and is intended to support the growth of the local art scene while drawing visitors to eastern Georgia.

Set among vineyards and mountains, the new foundation is part of a wider effort to strengthen contemporary art infrastructure beyond Georgia’s capital, Tbilisi. Its opening reflects an ambition to broaden access to contemporary art across the country’s regions.

The launch also arrives amid rising interest in contemporary art spaces across the Caucasus, where new institutions and private initiatives are increasingly shaping the cultural landscape. Details of the opening exhibition and future programming were not included in the announcement.
