The Lehman College Art Gallery is set to host the 2026 BFA, MA, and MFA Thesis Exhibition, which will open on May 20 and run until May 28, 2026. This exhibition presents the final works of graduating students from the Lehman College Art Department, showcasing diverse practices in digital media, painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, and interdisciplinary forms.
Featuring over thirty undergraduate and graduate artists, the exhibition spans a wide range of conceptual investigations and material explorations. Students address themes such as identity, memory, technology, migration, and social space, often blending traditional and innovative media. The display includes both time-based and digital works alongside physical installations, providing varied perspectives on contemporary art practices.
This exhibition marks the conclusion of the thesis process, where students craft and exhibit a comprehensive body of work informed by research and critical discussions. The show emphasizes individual artistic voices while highlighting the program’s focus on context, experimentation, and professional presentation.
The opening reception on May 20, from 5–8pm, will also serve as the Art Department’s year-end celebration. This event will feature an awards ceremony recognizing exceptional academic accomplishments and celebrate all graduates from the department’s various programs.
Participating BFA artists include Caroline Alba, Diego Daza, and Arbnore Gecaj, among others. MA/MFA participants feature Christian Abreu, Avery Engstrom, and Alex Kemp. The exhibition will take place at the Lehman College Art Gallery, located at 250 Bedford Park Blvd, West Bronx, New York, 10468. Further details can be found at lehmangallery.org.
