Employees at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum who belong to the Prospect trade union voted on July 29 to strike over working conditions. The union said workers had rejected what it called “Amazon-style” conditions, pointing to low pay, understaffing, and mounting pressure on staff.
The ballot came after complaints about the museum’s staffing policies and the impact of recent changes in the workplace on employees. Prospect said the decision to take strike action reflected wider frustration with conditions at the institution.
The dispute centers on working conditions at one of London’s most prominent museums, with union members seeking better pay and higher staffing levels. Prospect said it would continue pressing the museum to reach a resolution.
