Applications Open for 2027 Arts/Industry Residency at John Michael Kohler Arts Center

The John Michael Kohler Arts Center (JMKAC) is inviting artists to apply for the 2027 Arts/Industry residency, a prestigious three-month program held at Kohler Co. in Kohler, Wisconsin. Since its inception in 1974, this residency has supported over 600 artists.

Kohler Co. will accommodate four artists per session, with two focusing on Pottery and two on the Foundry. Prior experience with clay or metal is not necessary; applicants should be eager to incorporate industrial techniques into their creative work.

Participants are granted 24/7 studio access, complimentary industrial materials, equipment usage, technical assistance, photographic services, housing, round-trip travel, and a monthly stipend. Artists have the option to work in either the Pottery or the Foundry.

Arts/Industry is a joint effort between the nonprofit John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and Kohler Co., a leading kitchen and bath manufacturer based in Kohler, Wisconsin. Both organizations provide funding for this initiative.

The application deadline for the 2027 residency is February 28, 2026. To learn more about the program and how to apply, visit jmkac.org/applications.
