CONDUCTOR: New York Debuts Art Fair Celebrating Global Majority Artists

This spring, Powerhouse Arts introduces the first edition of CONDUCTOR: Art Fair of the Global Majority, an innovative international event highlighting artists and galleries from Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, South Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Oceania, and Indigenous Nations globally. Scheduled in Brooklyn from April 30 to May 3, 2026, with an exclusive VIP opening on April 29, the fair assembles 27 gallery exhibitors and 17 special projects, providing a broad platform for artists who are redefining contemporary art.

Curated by Fair Director Adriana Farietta alongside Powerhouse Arts President Eric Shiner, CONDUCTOR embodies a collective ambition to enhance access, representation, and cultural exchange within the global art community. Adriana Farietta shares, “Through CONDUCTOR, we aim to honor the diversity from some of the world’s most dynamic regions. The art world flourishes when it embraces new waves of artistic talent worldwide.”

Attendees will experience a wide array of painting, sculpture, installation, and interdisciplinary works from galleries such as Galería Extra (Guatemala City), Bockley Gallery (Minneapolis), Brihatta Art Foundation (Dhaka), Mazzucchelli/Cardoso (São Paulo), Gladwell Projects (New York), and WhereArt.Works (Saudi Arabia), among others. The Special Projects section will feature bold large-scale installations and mixed-media artworks that encourage deeper interaction with global histories, identities, and cultural stories.

In addition to the exhibitions, visitors can engage in an extensive Conversation Series, bringing together artists, curators, and cultural leaders to discuss the evolving role of contemporary art in a shifting global context. Situated in Powerhouse Arts’ Grand Hall and Loft, the fair invites collectors, curators, artists, and art lovers to explore emerging talents and renowned practitioners in a vibrant environment.

Be a part of this pioneering event and connect with the future of global contemporary art.
