Gagosian Gallery to Exclusively Handle Cy Twombly Estate

The Gagosian gallery has unveiled its exclusive agreement to represent the Cy Twombly Foundation. This collaboration will encompass organizing exhibitions and managing the sale and placement of works by the renowned late artist. Additionally, the gallery will partner with the Foundation to ensure the promotion and preservation of Twombly’s artistic legacy.

Larry Gagosian, founder of the gallery, shared his deep respect for Twombly, commenting, “Cy Twombly was a giant in the art world, and his work continues to captivate audiences around the globe.” The initial exhibition under this new partnership is set for next year, showcasing an extensive collection of Twombly’s paintings and sculptures.

Beyond this forthcoming exhibition, Gagosian intends to collaborate with museums across the globe to coordinate future shows and loans featuring Twombly’s work. These efforts aim to broaden the reach and appreciation of Twombly’s contributions to contemporary art.
