NYU Steinhardt Unveils 2026 MFA Thesis Art Shows

The Department of Art and Art Professions at NYU Steinhardt, along with the 80WSE Gallery, is pleased to announce the 2026 MFA Thesis Exhibitions taking place in Greenwich Village, New York. This series showcases the extensive research and creative efforts of second-year MFA students.

Part I of the MFA Thesis, titled ‘Hoodwinked,’ will have its opening reception on Wednesday, April 1, from 6 to 8 pm (ET). The exhibition will run from April 1 through April 18, featuring works by Nicholas Koby, Richard Medina, Roselynn Sadaghiani, Mario Saponaro, and Brooke Schneider.

Part II, known as ‘Eggshells,’ will begin with an opening reception on Wednesday, May 6, also from 6 to 8 pm (ET), and will be on display from May 6 through May 23. This segment includes pieces by Ariel Barish, Christopher Chan, Mélanie Dumas, Roxie de Là, and Fan Qi.

The interdisciplinary MFA program nurtures a vibrant community of emerging artists, offering them the opportunity to develop their craft through interaction with faculty, visiting artists, and art professionals. The 80WSE Gallery, a vital part of the Department, is instrumental in presenting contemporary and historical exhibits in collaboration with faculty and students.

The exhibitions will be open to the public at the 80WSE Gallery, located at 80 Washington Square East in New York City, from Tuesday to Saturday, 12 to 6 pm (ET). For further details, please visit 80wse.org.
