Untitled Space Founder Indira Cesarine on Art, Activism, and Elevating Marginalized Voices

More than a decade ago, Indira Cesarine launched The Untitled Space in New York’s Tribeca neighborhood. The gallery was established as an expansive venue with a clear purpose.

Its mission was to amplify overlooked and marginalized voices while creating a more accessible way for audiences to engage with the range of perspectives the art world has to offer.

By placing inclusivity at the center of the gallery’s identity, Cesarine set out to challenge a system that has long excluded many artists from broader visibility. The space was conceived not only as a place for exhibitions, but also as a platform for representation and dialogue.

In doing so, The Untitled Space positioned itself as a venue where art and activism could intersect. Its founding vision reflected a commitment to expanding access and making room for a wider spectrum of creative voices.
