Warhol’s ‘Muhammad Ali’ Returns to Art Basel Miami Beach with an $18 Million Price Tag

A striking Muhammad Ali portrait by Andy Warhol (1977) is among the headline works at Art Basel Miami Beach 2025, according to reports from HENI News. The piece, brought to the fair by the gallery Lévy Gorvy Dayan, is offered at approximately $18 million, positioning it as one of the most talked-about works on view during the VIP opening.

The selection resonates strongly with the fair’s location: the Miami Beach Convention Center stands near the site where Ali—then Cassius Clay—defeated Sonny Liston in 1964 to become heavyweight world champion.

Art Basel Miami Beach 2025 also features an event curated by Kimberly Drew, with artist Tavares Strachan in conversation with NFL Super Bowl champion Malcolm Jenkins, exploring the connection between athletic performance and contemporary art under the theme “The Game of Art.”

The fair opens to VIPs on December 3 and continues throughout the week, bringing together leading galleries, collectors, and market observers for one of the year’s most influential contemporary art events.
